Sammy Hagar has revealed the details of his new album, Sammy Hagar and Friends, due out this fall on Frontiers Records.
Hagar had already announced the appearance of a number of special guests on the new album, including Neal Schon (Journey), Kid Rock, and Chickenfoot’s Chad Smith and Joe Satriani. Additional guests include Taj Mahal, Ronnie Dunn, Toby Keith, Nancy Wilson, and Mickey Hart, among others.
Kid Rock, Joe Satriana and Denny Carmassi appear on the album’s first single “Knockdown Dragout.”
While the album features a few originals, it also includes a number of covers, such as Bob Seger’s “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man,” Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus,” and Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville.”
Sammy Hagar & Friends is due out September 24th in the US and is Hagar’s first solo effort in five years.
